The Bauchi State government has begun distributing the 2026 Ramadan palliatives to all 20 local government areas, religious organisations, and selected groups.
Speaking during the flag-off ceremony, Commissioner of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management, Hajiya Hajara Yakubu Wanka, said the ministry distributed 25,535 bags of rice, 25,539 bags of maize, 11,970 bags of millet, 16,751 bags of sorghum, and 5,000 bags of sugar.
The palliatives cover both Ramadan and Sallah support and were approved by the state governor to ease the burden on citizens. Wanka urged local government chairmen to ensure equitable distribution at the grassroots.
