Bauchi Groups Commend Senator Buba’s Role in Security, Development

The Northeast Concerned Citizens Association, in collaboration with Shehu Buba Ambassadors, the Amalgamation of Tailoring and Design Garment Association, and the Small and Medium Enterprises Association of Bauchi State, has praised Senator Shehu Buba Umar for his contributions to national security and community development.

Speaking at a press conference in Bauchi on Friday, Coordinator of the Northeast Concerned Citizens, Comrade Mubarak Inuwa Gorama, described the Senator representing Bauchi South as “a leader whose record in public service stands as one of sacrifice, patriotism, and commitment to national security.”

Gorama noted that Senator Buba, as Chairman of the Senate Committee on National Security and Intelligence, has consistently advocated a blend of kinetic and non-kinetic strategies in addressing insecurity. He said the Senator’s emphasis on dialogue, reconciliation, and socio-economic renewal complements military action in tackling national security challenges.

“His advocacy is already shaping policy directions at the national level,” Gorama said, commending the support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and National Security Adviser Mallam Nuhu Ribadu in adopting innovative approaches to security management.

He highlighted Senator Buba’s on-ground interventions, including condolence visits to victims of attacks in Alkaleri Local Government Area, and engagement with hunters, security operatives, and community leaders. Gorama said these efforts underscored the Senator’s message that insecurity must never be politicised and can only be defeated through collective action.

The groups also pointed to the Senator’s contributions to community development in Bauchi South, citing road construction projects, provision of fertilizers and food palliatives, and youth empowerment programmes.

“At this juncture, we urge citizens to remain united and continue to support genuine efforts aimed at restoring peace and development,” Gorama added.
