Bauchi lawmaker converts residential house to community school, sponsors 37 children

The Senator representing Bauchi South, Malam Ali Wakili has converted his house at Lere village in Tafawa Balewa local government into a community primary school.
He disclosed this in his hometown during the graduation ceremony of 37 pupils of Tarbiyatul Islam Nursery and Primary school.
He explained that he converted his house located near the school to be expanded and provide more space for classes that would accommodate more children and increase the school intake.
Wakili lamented that the local government area has only few government schools hence his decision to hand over his plot and the empty house for conversion into a school to complement the existing ones and encourage parents to enrol their wards.
The senator also donated the sum of N90, 000 to the school, a sewing machine to the overall best male pupil Mansur Musa and a grinding machine to his female counterpart Hussaina Munkaila.
He also promised to sponsor all the 37 graduates to junior secondary schools.
Senator Wakili has also recently built a lodge for corps members in the area.
He advised the school authority to request for the deployment of ‘National Youths Service Corps (NYSC) to the school to assist in teaching children at the school.
In his remarks, the school’s Headmaster, Alhaji Yusuf Dandada explained that they started with less than 100 children in both Nursery and Primary sections but the school is currently having almost 500 pupils.
According to him, the increase in children enrolment in the school is an indication that parents in the village are now interested in sending their children to school.
