The Member representing Darazo/Ganjuwa Federal Constituency, Hon Mansur Manu Soro has flagged off 10 subsidised shuttle buses for transportation as palliative measures to cushion the effect of subsidy removal to his constituency.
The lawmaker also presented N35million grants to 10 schools and health facilities he constructed and furnished for their 2024 annual year.
Speaking during the presentation of the cheque and vehicles Sunday in Bauchi, Rep Manu Soro, explained that the gesture is aim at bringing succour to the people affected by the impacts of the removal of petrol subsidy, “Primarily, our targeted objective is to subsidize costs of transportation and minimize the risk of vehicular accidents along the designated routes while creating jobs to our people.”
Manu Soro said, “In January 2023, I launched the Darazo-Ganjuwa Subsidized Shuttle Service with four number of vehicles to enable the immediate commencement in subsidised- transportation of persons across the constituency and beyond.

“To enhance their coverage, today we are expanding the existing fleet with six additional vehicles to maintain the service routes of-Bauchi -Darazo – Sade – Potiskum along the Bauchi-Maiduguri federal highway, Bauchi-Kafin Madaki – Ningi on the busy Bauchi-Kano federal highway and the -Darazo-Dukku along the Darazo-Gombe federal highway.
Commenting on health and education, the lawmaker said, “In January 2021, a grant of N31million was extended to the said facilities and schools that continued to provide affordable healthcare services and tuition-free, quality secondary and primary education with complete school kits and meals for free to the pupils and students.”
Earlier in his remarks, a community leader from Darazo who speak on behalf of the constituents, Alhaji Umar Said Maigamo, said that the lawmaker through his pet-project MMS Foundation constructed 4 health facilities and 10 schools including primary and secondary schools within his constituency to provide free education and four Pediatrics hospitals, “Free treatment is offered in all our paediatric hospitals including laboratory diagnosis and drugs.”
The schools include Gifted Sch. Kafin Madaki, Soro, Darazo, Sade, Special Pry Sch, Lanzai, Pediatric Hospital, Miya, Soro, Gabarin, Sade, Manu Soro Orphanage School, Soro, adding that students in these schools receive free uniforms, textbooks and all the schools are tuition free.
Said noted that Manu Soro has also provided 2 tractors in the constituency currently operating at a subsidised rate.
