As soon as the government was inaugurated Yuguda demonstrated his appreciation by carrying his people along.  Everything went well until some people in the government began to be envious of others especially Gaban and Kari.  One by one, they frustrated the two and many more out of the government through their gossip, ill-advice and blackmail.  They caused serious friction which neither the governor nor those who left the government were to blame for.  It was purely the result of mischief by those with desire to dominate the government and the governor himself and they succeeded to some extent.  When such forces of monopoly were comfortable and undisturbed in their places of work, the people they now want away stuck out their neck to be with Yuguda at the most difficult stage of the struggle that gave birth to the present government they tend to dominate.  They hate to see anybody close to the governor, and this is unrealistic in a democratic dispensation.  If they cannot bring more people to the governor, they should not chase away those that are already there.

God in his infinite mercy decided not to allow things continue like this.  His intervention made Yuguda see reason that those who rallied round him in difficult times can not decide in this good time to become his enemies.  He realized bad people are at work to sever his long term brotherly relationship with his people.  It is in this regard he started reconciliatory move which from the look of things will be of enormous benefit to the people of the state.

This move has already started to yield positive result with the return of Shehu Musa Gabam, former Chief of Staff and Abubakar Kari, former Special Adviser on Information Technology and General Duties.  The return of the two will pave the way for more reconciliations and an all-encompassing government.  I say this with all certainly in consideration of the wonderful performance of Shehu Gabam when he was Chief of Staff in Government House.  Things were moving very well then not only in Government House but in the whole government of Bauchi State owing to his diligence, prudence and perfect vision.  His acumen and dexterity in managing public affairs earned him public confidence and love.  He turns listening ears to the complaints of those under him and of course the instructions of his superiors.  In other words, loyalty is one of his cardinal principles in governance; he is humble and generous.

Such good sides to Shehu Gabam are contributory to why people are very much fond of him and really missed him for the period he had been out of Yuguda’s government. With this big comeback, we have every reason to believe that life has been breathed into Yuguda’s government and more of good things are going to happen in Bauchi State.
