A statement distributed to newsmen by Police spokesman DSP Haruna Mohammed, yesterday in Bauchi said “two children, a boy and a girl, namely one Umar Adamu(male), aged 12 years, and Safiya aged 9 years, were brought to Tafawa Balewa Division by a Good Samaritan. The subjects were sited wandering today along Lere/Gindiri axis, a border between Bauchi and Plateau States.”
Haruna said a preliminary investigation revealed that they had absconded from their parents’ home in Bajoga Local Government Area of Gombe State for undisclosed reasons.
The police appealed to members of the public whose children absconded, particularly, from Bajoga LGA to report at Juvenile Welfare Center (JWC) attached to Criminal Investigation Department, Bauchi Police Command, for proper identification and collect their children.
