Bauchi State Ministry of Finance has disclosed that the state has recorded significant improvements in its Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) from N300m to over 2 Billion while the state is targeting N3bn before the end of 2025.

State Commissioner of Finance Yakubu Adamu, who disclosed this during a Scorecard programme organized by the the Ministry of Information and Communication, Ministry of Budget and Multilateral Coordination in collaboration with Media Organizations on radio monitored by our correspondent.

The Commissioner disclosed that the governor Bala Mohammed administration has made significant progress on policies and programs that provide an enabling environment for businesses and other services that boost revenue generation in the state.

Adamu said the government prioritises the payment of workers’ salaries, debt servicing and other mandatory obligations to ensure efficiency in the government activities and ensure welfare of its citizenry.

He further disclosed that the wage bill of the State has increased to about N11 billion, adding that the state spent N11 billion on salaries of state and local government workers monthly.
