The Bauchi State Ministry of Education has announced the approval of N888,507,400 by the state government to fund external examination fees and JAMB registration for 24,917 secondary school students across the state.

The State Commissioner for Education, Alhaji Abdulkadir Ibrahim, disclosed this while briefing journalists on Friday in Bauchi. He said the approval, granted by Governor Bala Mohammed, is aimed at ensuring that no eligible student is prevented from sitting key examinations due to financial constraints.

According to him, the intervention will cover the registration of 22,646 students for the National Examinations Council (NECO), 2,064 students for the National Business and Technical Examinations Board (NABTEB), and 207 students for the National Board for Arabic and Islamic Studies (NBAIS).

“In addition, 6,562 students will benefit from registration for the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) examination and Computer-Based Test (CBT) training. In total, 24,917 students in public secondary schools across Bauchi State will benefit from the initiative,” he said.

The commissioner described the approval as a major investment in the education sector, reaffirming the state government’s commitment to expanding access, promoting equity, and improving academic performance in public schools.

Ibrahim commended the governor for the timely intervention, noting that the gesture would ease the financial burden on parents and guardians while positioning thousands of students for higher education and future career opportunities.
