Bauchi State government has signed an agreement with the Federal Government of Nigeria on National Home Grown School Feeding Programme (NHGSFP) to provide meals for neary 400,000 school children.
State focal person , Social Investment Programmes, Mansur Manu Soro, in a statement said, "The goal of the Programme is to provide one free nutritional meal for pupils in the first three years of public primary school for 200 school days every year with the aim of improving child enrolment and completion, stimulating local production of agricultural products and creating jobs in all the communities where the Programme is implemented.”
According to him, more than 400,000 pupils from 2,565 participating public primary schools in the state have been identified as beneficiaries of the programme.
