Yuguda gave the directive in Bauchi during the official commissioning of the Fadama Produce Shopping centre in the state that will serve as sales point for local farm produce like maize, rice, and sorghum, tomatoes, ground nut oil and many others at affordable prices.
He said government all over the world had tested insemination and found it the best way to produce many healthy cows that a cattle breeder will get increased profit from.
Governor Yuguda said food security and creation of jobs and reduction of poverty could only be achieved if new technologies are embraced by farmers and urged the managers of Fadama project to continue to sensitize, mobilize and build capacity of staff, community associations and user groups as well as service providers to be technologically driven.
He said despite the abundant resources that the country was blessed with farmers were yet to seize the advantage of new farming techniques and technology to boost agricultural production for self sufficiency.
He maintained that agriculture remains the only way to eradicate poverty in the country, especially among women and youth and appealed to traditional and religious leaders to prevail on their subjects to be part of the laudable programmes of his administration on reducing poverty in the state.
The Commissioner for Agriculture, Alhaji Tasiu Mohammed, said out of the 20 local government areas in the state, 11 are benefiting from the Fadama III projects.
