Youths in the state under the aegis of Bauchi Youth Consultative Forum (BYCF) had over the weekend described Yuguda’s allegation as baseless and one that could further plunge the state into political unrest, pointing out that the governor had for long planned on how to hit back at the FCT minister since his popular motion in the senate.
Addressing journalists in Abuja, the leader of the forum, Alhaji Bashir Ahmed, noted that Sen. Bala’s loyalty to President Goodluck Jonathan has earned him bad reputation among those loyal to the governor, noting that the minister has been at the receiving end of all political violence in the state since 2011.
“It is obvious for those of us in Bauchi State that since the FCT minister moved the popular motion of “doctrine of necessity”, a motion that conferred powers on the then vice president Goodluck Jonathan to act as president, while President Umaru Musa Yar’adua was away in Saudi Arabia receiving medical attention, Yuguda has vowed to pay Bala back in his own coin. After several failed attempts, he now resorted to political violence by sponsoring hoodlums to attack the presidential rally,” he stated.
The youth leader further described Yuguda’s accusation as a fabrication by a selfish politician who is bent on ensuring that the opposition, the All Progressives Congress, takes over the leadership of the state in the forthcoming elections, adding that the state governor is an APC mole in the PDP.
Ahmed stated that with the recent political development in the state, Yuguda should forget his senatorial ambition, as the youths have mobilised against him come February 14.
