Bayelsa assembly speaker, 15 members deny plan to dump PDP

Sixteen out of the 19 Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) members of the Bayelsa State House of Assembly have denied the rumour that they have perfected plans to dump the party for any other political party, and passed a vote of confidence on Governor Henry Seriake Dickson.

Speaking with newsmen in Yenagoa, yesterday, the Speaker, Monday Obolo-Bobou, said the assembly has enjoyed unbroken stability and cohesion for almost eight years under the leadership of Governor Dickson.

The speaker, alongside 15 other members, explained that the House of Assembly has had a robust partnership for almost eight years working with the executive arm of government led by Governor Dickson in the development of the state.

He assured the people of the state that the House of Assembly was committed to ensuring that the Restoration Government under Governor Dickson finished strong come February 14, 2020.

Also, the Deputy Speaker, Abraham Ngobere and the member representing Yenagoa ll, Ebiwou Koku-Obiyai, said the members were committed to serving the people that elected them.
