Ahead of the November 16 governorship election in Bayelsa State, an NGO, Stakeholders Democracy Network (SDN), in collaboration with the United Nations Democracy Fund (UNDEF), has trained staff of INEC, in the state on capacity building and election best practices.

The one-day training workshop was meant to strengthen the experience of staff of the commission to identify and respond to electoral violence during the November governorship election in the state.

Declaring the workshop open in Yenagoa, the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) in charge of Bayelsa State, Pastor Monday Udoh, commended the facilitators for organising the training and expressed satisfaction.
