Bayelsa polytechnic to begin academic session in September

The Bayelsa State Commissioner for Education, Mr Jonathan Obuebite on Wednesday, confirmed that the proposed state owned polytechnic would begin academic session in September 2018.

Obuebite, made this disclosure during a visit to the Alei of Aleibiri, HRH Simon Ebebi and members of his council on Wednesday.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the polytechnic, according to the commissioner, will be located at Aleibiri community in Ekeremor Local Government Area of Bayelsa.

He said that work would soon begin on the site while urging the people to be patient with the government, as the opening of the school would bring more investment to the community.

Obuebite called on traditional rulers and his council to map out the area allocated for the polytechnic; to facilitate the processing of the Certificate of Occupancy in order to avoid future misunderstanding.

The commissioner was accompanied by the Rector, Dr Promise Meibina, Sen. John Brambayefa, Chairman, Bayelsa State Polytechnic Governing Council and members of the council.
