The Bayelsa State Female Handball Team, Bayelsa Queens, are set for the first phase of the Ardova PLC Premiership Handball League to be played in Benin City, Edo State.

Head Coach of the team, Deidei Enebidou, told Sports Writers in Yenagoa that the team is fit and ready for this year’s competition.

He noted that unlike the last time, where they were relegated from the topflight competition, the team has been strengthened due to the support from the state government.

According to him, Nigerian handball has gone professional so it became necessary to beef up the squad to avoid a repeat of the 2021 experience when the team was relegated from the topflight.
