Governor Seriake Dickson, who gave the indication weekend during the second anniversary of his ascension to office, said that the state would embark on numbering of all the buildings in the state capital to ensure that no building would be exempted in the collection of the sanitation fee.
He said that government would deal with landlords, who he stressed should in turn deal with their tenants and ensure that everybody pays the fee as and when due.
“Government cannot afford to continue paying for the disposal of wastes generated by the people. We are going to fashion out a way by which every resident will at the end of every month pay something into the coffers of government to help in keeping our state clean.”He also announced that the state government has provided brand new vehicles for the distribution of water to residents of the state capital until a final sustainable solution is found for accessing potable drinking water.
