Bayelsa State Governor, Henry Seriake Dickson has said billions of Naira spent on education in six years has improved schools infrastructure and reduced militancy in the state. 

Dickson spoke on Monday when the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Tukur Buratai paid him courtesy visit in Yenagoa, as part of activities for the ground breaking and foundation laying ceremony of the 16 Brigade Barracks in the state.

The governor said about N70 billion was invested in education in the six years and that  “our efforts at tackling insurgency, militancy and other security challenges in the country will not make much impact without addressing illiteracy, which we believe is their root cause.”
