Ahead of the first leg encounter between Bayelsa United and Ashanti Golden Boys of Guinea, in the 2021 CAF Confederation Cup preliminary round clash, Bayelsa United experienced striker, Okardi Inikurogha, has said the match offers them the opportunity to announce their return to the continental scene seven years of absence.

Bayelsa who defeated Nasarawa United in the finals of the 2021 Aiteo Cup to pick the continental ticket will be looking to dominate the Guinean side in order to continue with their good run of form.

The CAF Confederation Cup fixture will take place on Sunday, September 19, at the Sampson Siasia stadium in Yenagoa.

In view of the present political crisis in Guinea, there will be no return leg in the preliminary round match.

Speaking shortly after the team’s training session yesterday, Inikurogha said the team was prepared to face their Guinean opponents that finished 4th in the Guinée Championnat National last season.

The diminutive attacker also said, the dream of every good player was to play in the continent, so the match against the Golden Boys of Guinea is a dream come true for him.

“We are expecting a tough match but we are also prepared. We are not going to let our fans down.

“Personally, this is a dream come true for me because I always dreamt of playing in the continent,” he said.

Inikurogha who has been on the radar of some NPFL sides will hope to continue his goal scoring prowess against the CAF Confederation debutants.
