Olinya who addressed the church’s 54th Annual National Youth Conference in Enugu on Thursday, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that embracing God would help to reduce vices among the youth in the country.

The bishop explained that the aim of the programme was to bring youths from all parts of the country to speak to them on moral upbringing.

According to him, the programme will involve teachings, seminars, workshops and prayers.

“If every youth in Nigeria comes to know the Lord, some of the vices we see among our youths will not be there because a true Christian youth cannot be in a secret cult. He cannot think of becoming an armed robber or member of Boko Haram.

“So our aim here is to bring up the youths who should not only serve the Lord, but also be assets to the nation,” he stated.

He advised every youth to come to the knowledge of God so that things would begin to change for them positively.

“Everybody is chasing money, education and they forget their creator,’’ he noted.

The bishop asked every youth to attend the conference.
