Governor Simon Bako Lalong of Plateau State
Plateau State Governor Simon Bako Lalong has warned the newly elected local government chairman and councillors not to consider themselves as leaders of their individual religions, ethnic groups or political parties.
He told them that they were expected to work for all citizens under their LGAs irrespective of whatever affiliations they might be. Lalong, who gave the warning during the swearing-in of the newly elected chairmen in Jos, reminded them that “your victory is for the people and not an opportunity to settle scores with anybody or enrich yourselves.”
