Former president, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, has  said that inability of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to provide eligible voters with their Permanent Voter Card (PVC) amounts to ‘‘water don pass garri’’.
Obasanjo nonetheless urged the affected persons to take the development in good stride, saying there will always be another time.

The former president who spoke shortly after he was accredited for the election at Ward II, Unit 22 Olusomi Compound, Totoro in Abeokuta-North Local Government, said it was unfortunate that despite satisfactory reports
received, some people still complain about their inability to get the PVC.

“If they have not gotten all the cards at this hour, there is not much anybody can do. However, we hope that they have the cards by the next election.

Unfortunately, those people will be disenfranchised from this election but this should not become political violence, they should be patient.

The organisers are doing their best; at times, water dey pass garri and when  that happens, you take it coolly and then expect the best from what you have,” he said.

On the election generally, Obasanjo said, it is constitutional that every four years Nigerian must go to the polls to elect new leaders and that it is nothing new.
