Governor Godwin Obaseki has charged the Edo State Christian pilgrims to shun any act capable of tarnishing the image of the state.
He warned against absconding, saying such misconduct would impact negatively on Edo people.
The governor told a contingent of the pilgrims in Benin, “Your pilgrimage to the three cities of Italy, Greece and Israel is a journey for spiritual renewal. Serve as points of contact for all Edo citizens and Nigeria whom you represent. You would be making a grave error if you choose to abscond … as your guarantors would be held responsible. Unwholesome conduct will jeopardize our relationships with the host nations and deny other persons from experiencing what you are about to experience.”
