Be vigilant, council boss tells newly turbaned village chiefs

The Chairman of Gwagwalada Area Council, Alhaji Adamu Mustapha, has urged newly turbaned village chiefs in the area to always be vigilant and security conscious in their domains.

Mustapha, who made the call during the turbaning ceremony of seven  new village chiefs at Dobi yesterday, also urged them to ensure security of lives and property of their subjects remain their top priority.

The chairman, while congratulating the village chiefs, called on them to ensure peaceful coexistence among their subjects and other ethnic groups in their domains, saying peace and unity should always be their watch ward.

Also speaking, a former House of Representatives member for Abuja South, Alhaji Zakari Angulu Dobi, also called on the newly turbaned chiefs to represent their people with the fear of God, adding that they should ensure they did justice in resolving whatever crisis was brought before them devoid of tribal or religious sentiments.

Among the seven newly turbaned village chiefs were, Bamusa Sarki, as village chief of Ashara, Usman Galadima as village chief of Gulu Pai, Adamu Tanko Bello, village chief of Ledi 1, Yunusa Mohammed, village chief of Ledi II, and Abdullahi Pada, village chief of Ledi III.
