Bebejin Katsina, Nuhu Yashe, dies at 92

Bebejin Katsina, a member of the Katsina emirate council and district head of Kusada, Alhaji Nuhu Yashe, has died at the age of 92.

He passed away at his Katsina residence in Sabon Layi, Thursday evening shortly after the Isha prayer, following a protracted illness. 

He was known for his humanitarian activities, among which was the feeding of internally displaced persons (IDPs) every day at his residence.

He was survived by two wives and 18 children, among whom is Hajiya Hattuna, one of the wives of the emir of Katsina, Dr Abudulmumini Kabir Usman.

He was buried at the Danmarna cemetery after funeral prayer held at the emir’s palace at 4:05pm, attended by a mammoth crowd.

Some of the important personalities that attended the funeral prayer include the Deputy Governor of Katsina State, Malam Faruk Lawal, and the emir of Katsina, Dr Abdulmumini Kabir Usman, among others.

Katsina State governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has extended his condolences to the Emir of Katsina, the Yashe family and the people of Kusada and Katsina State over his death.
