Before appointing new Comptroller General of Immigration

We, the concerned officers are passionately appealing to the government to first and foremost set up a ministerial committee to verify and ascertain or otherwise view that Nigeria Immigration is lagging behind in the comity of other Para-military agencies based on the following observations:
Lack of recreational facilities; neglect of officers’ welfare; inadequate office accommodation; un-conducive residential accommodation for officers coupled with lack of landscaping; infrastructural decay; logistics in areas of vehicles and transportation; desire to inherit abandoned properties of old party structures of SDP and NRC without building new ones; zonal offices squatting with other agencies or Federal and State secretariats; stagnation of officers; inappropriate recruitment procedures based on hidden agenda of replacement or wastage; and lack of modern institutions or academy to handle contemporary issues.
In view of the above, we would like to make the following suggestions.
That names of the officers shortlisted  for Comptroller General Of Immigration be expanded to accommodate two more officers of the rank of Assistant Comptroller General Immigration having four or five years before disengagement without having any officers in mind.
Past Comptroller Generals Immigration be summoned to account for their stewardship in terms of contracts awarded for the construction of office complex and residential quarters.
Although we are in a Regimented Service, we are in a democracy and to that extent any officer aspiring to be Comptroller General Immigration or lucky to be appointed should be able to provide us with his/her vision. Strategic plans for implementation are equally required.
On a more serious note, we should have preferred appointment of a retired military officer as a sole Administrator on “a Redeem Mission” to address and rectify some of these abnormalities within two years or a “Dark Horse” that can place the service in its rightful position. Although, it is a painful write up it is inevitable based on the fact that Immigration is not in any way moving forward. If these were curses which we hardly believe would want them exorcised through appointment of a self-determined, selfless, visionary and committed person either within or outside that can elevate Immigration in its rightful place in the comity of para-military agencies.
