A female beggar has been knocked down by a car while crossing the Abuja-Lokoja highway in Gwagwalada Area Council of the FCT.

A witness, who disclosed that the incident happened around 11am on Monday and that she sustained serious injuries, said she was rescued by sympathisers and that the owner of the car took her to the hospital.

Our reporter who arrived at the scene, opposite the popular SDP Junction, observed as sympathisers struggled to rescue the woman.
