The Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) Babachir David Lawal yesterday in Abuja inaugurated the newly reconstituted Committee on National Honours Award with former Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Alfa Belgore as chairman.
The SGF reminded the committee that the national award has two purposes to recognize and honour citizens and friends of Nigeria who have distinguished themselves in their various endeavours and contributed immensely to the development of the nation.
Chairman of the committee Justice Belgore expressed appreciation of committee members for the honour of appointing them and pledged that the committee will not disappoint the nation.
Other members of the committee are Hon. Justice Umaru Kalgo (Rtd), Hon. Justice Isaac Aluyi (Rtd), Mrs. Bola Ogunriade, Nnema Josephine Ndukwu, Ambassador Usman Gaji Galtimari, Chief Bassey Edem, Engineer Gabriel Afu, Ambassador Nonye Udo, Mr. M. F. Abikoye, Mr. Y. M. Bichi, Mrs. Rasheedat Okoduwa, Mr. James A. Ibidapo, and Mr. Gabriel Loto who is the secretary of the committee.
