Justice Salihu Modibo Alfa Belgore, at the weekend formally presented former Energy Minister, Prof. Bartholomew Nnaji to the public as the pioneer Director of IIPELP Power Studies Centre.
Justice Belgore, at the event, described Prof. Nnaji as an asset who will bring his wealth of experience and his international stature to bear in IIPELP’s Power Studies Centre.
He said IIPELP, concerned with the current state of affairs in the Nigerian power sector, came up with the idea of establishing the centre which is expected to contribute towards finding solution to energy challenges not only in Nigeria but Africa as a whole.
The former CJN said though it is a blessing that is late in coming, the centre is expected to deepen human capacity and strengthen organizations and state institutions in the sector to promote effective and efficient utilization of available energy resources for Nigeria’s economic transformation.
