University Preparatory Secondary School (UPSS) of the University of Benin, Edo State, has won the 2019 RS5 Zonal Secondary Schools Road Safety Clubs Quiz Competition.
The competition, organised by the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), had schools from Anambra, Delta and Edo states.
UPSS came first after securing 29 points to beat nine other contestants from the zone.
Ten schools participated in the competition held at the FRSC Command, Awka, Anambra State, with four schools from Anambra and three each from Delta and Edo.
The first runner-up, Community Secondary School, Oko, Anambra State, secured 28 points, while the second runner-up, Touch Bearer Benin, Edo State, got 25 points.
Winners of first, second and third positions got N50,000, N30,000 and N20,000 cash prizes respectively, including trophies.
Welcoming the participants, Mr. Andrew Kumapayi, the Sector Commander of FRSC in Anambra, said the purpose of the annual quiz competition was to create create positive road culture.
