The Youth and Sports Commissioner, Dr. Jacob Omenka signed on behalf of the State Government while Barr. Alex Adum signed for the company.

The Commissioner said the award of the contract was preparatory to the National Sports Festival coming up in Port-Harcourt this year. He said the Ministry was encouraged by the award of the contract few weeks after Governor Gabriel Suswam directed for the release of the funds for the installation of synthetic pitch at Aper Aku Stadium.

According to him, the gesture was a clear indication that Governor Gabriel Suswam was totally committed to giving the sports sector a face lift and charged the contractor to supply high grade equipment within the stipulated time.

Responding, the Managing Director of Duchester Ltd. Barr. Alex Adum promised to keep to the terms of the contract and called for prompt release of mobilization fee to enable the company deliver on time.
