The Benue State government has intensified its education reforms with a total ban on illegal levies in all public and private schools and the compulsory introduction of electronic dossiers (e-Dossiers) for learners across the state.

Executive Secretary of the Benue Education Quality Assurance and Examination Board (BEQAEB), Dr Terna Francis, disclosed this during the board’s maiden meeting with school principals in Makurdi.

Francis warned that the government would no longer tolerate unauthorised charges by principals or administrators, stressing that the new digital monitoring system was designed to enhance transparency and accountability in school operations.

“The e-Dossier will track each learner’s academic record from Basic 1 to SS3 and allow the board to monitor performance, student migration, and examination registration.

“It will also eliminate excuses, speed up result processing, and restore credibility to our education system,” he said.

He disclosed that all payments related to examinations have now been automated and must be made online or through banks, prohibiting any form of cash transaction or manual receipts, adding that any staff found handling cash would face disciplinary action.
