Benue declares Fridays work-free for civil servants

Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State

The Benue State Government has approved Fridays as work-free days for civil servants, who are farmers to enable them harvest their crops.

Our correspondent reports that the decision takes effect from November 6, 2020 to January 29, 2021.

The workers, earlier this year, were granted the same opportunity to cultivate their farmlands.

State Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism, Mrs. Ngunan Addingi, announced the government’s decision on Tuesday while briefing journalists at the end of the State Executive Council meeting presided by Governor Samuel Ortom.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner urged members of the public with cases of Police brutality to avail their complaints to the panel of inquiry set up by the state for investigation and necessary action.
