At least 70 shops were yesterday gutted by fire at the Otukpo Main Market, Otukpo, Benue State.

Our correspondent reports that this is the second time the market would be razed by fire this year. The other incident was in March.

It was learnt that the new incident destroyed property and wares worth millions of naira.

Witnesses said the fire which started between 4:00am and 5:00am and spread before the arrival of men of the fire service eventually put it off.
