Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue State has appointed renowned music icon, Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Face or 2Baba, as his technical adviser on entertainment and community outreach.

The governor announced the appointment on Wednesday during a courtesy and sympathy visit by Idibia to the Government House in Makurdi.

Governor Alia said the move is part of efforts to strengthen the state’s entertainment sector and foster community development.

He commended 2Face’s international acclaim and humanitarian efforts, particularly through his 2Baba Foundation, which has supported vulnerable communities through advocacy for refugee rights, relief interventions, and healthcare services.

The governor expressed optimism that Idibia’s experience and influence would add value to the state’s development strategies.

The visit also featured discussions on recent violent attacks by armed men in the state, with both parties calling for concerted efforts to address the security crisis.

2Face, in response, encouraged Nigerians to rally behind the governor’s peace and development initiatives.
