Benue Govt restates commitment to judges welfare – Aide

The Benue Government has reiterated its resolve to continue to improve on judges’ welfare to ensure speedy dispensation of justice.

The Special Adviser on Media and ICT to the Governor, Mr Tahav Agerzua, made the disclosure in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Makurdi on Thursday.

Agerzua said the state government had resumed the payment of wardrobe allowances to the judges and had also included them in the new vehicles that would be acquired by the government.

The adviser also stressed that more judges would be appointed to handle pending cases and relieve older judges of workload.

He said that Benue had the finest judges in the country, saying they deserved the best to keep up the good work.

“Our judges have solid reputation and have been adjudged the best in the country. So, we will spare nothing to ensure that they are comfortable,” the adviser, said.

He promised that the other needs of the judiciary would also be considered when the economy improves to enhance speedy dispensation of justice.
