The Police in Benue State on Sunday recovered a female body dumped in a drainage at the High-level area of Makurdi metropolis.

Witnesses said residents were shocked to find the corpse in a drainage at Calabar street in High Level early hours of Sunday without any slight clue to what might have happened.

But, the Policemen Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Catherine Anene confirmed the incident, noting that the relatives of the dead body had been traced.

“A lifeless body of a lady was found in a drainage at Calabar street on Sunday 11/10/2020 at about 7am.

“The family was traced and they confirmed the corpse to be Angbiandoo Gbavaan who left the house the previous night and never returned,” she said.

Anene however added that the identified corpse has been deposited at Bishop Murray Morgue for autopsy.

The PPRO said investigation into the matter was on progress.
