Ethiopian Amane Beriso was in dominant form as she sailed to victory in the women’s marathon on another brutally hot day at the World Athletics Championships in Budapest yesterday.

She capped an amazing 12 months of running to power away from her Ethiopian compatriots and win the marathon in 2:24:23.

The 31-year-old pulled away from the pack on the last of four 10km laps and finished comfortably in front.
