A House of Representatives member and Chairman of the House Committee on FCT Area Councils/Auxiliary Matters, Mukhtar Betara, and the former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Idris Wase, were among the dignitaries who attended the three-day Fidau prayers of the late Alhaji Mohammed Ajiya, father of the House of Representatives member for Abuja South, Abdulrahman Ajiya.
The Fidau prayers were held at the family residence of the lawmaker in Abaji on Tuesday, where prayers were offered by several clerics and imams, as well as some individuals who prayed for the soul of the deceased.
The chairman of the House Committee on FCT/Auxiliary Matters, Mukhtar Betara, who also offered his condolences, expressed shock and sadness over the demise of Alhaji Mohammed Ajiya and prayed that Allah grant the deceased Aljanatul-Firdaus.
Also, the former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Idris Wase, said he received the news of the demise of the lawmaker’s father with shock and prayed that Allah grant his soul an eternal rest.
Responding, the House of Representatives member for Abuja South, Abdulrahman Ajiya, expressed his appreciation to his colleagues from the National Assembly, and others who stood by the family before, during and after the prayer.
