Between Bamanga Tukur and Lai Mohammed

I urge Alhaji Lai Mohammed to channel his energy elsewhere. He lacks the basis to call for Bamanga’s resignation for the following reasons:

The issue of the fuel subsidy scam is never and cannot be a party affair that would warrant the resignation of the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party. No party other than the PDP caucus has the jurisdiction to call for the resignation of Alhaji Bamanga Tukur, under no circumstances shall anybody or group of persons have the jurisdiction to adjudge that a person is guilty based on the crime of his or her son as provided by section 36(5) of the 1999 constitution as amended.

Therefore, it is imperative for the people to ignore the recent call made by the Action Congress Publicity Secretary. The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party has built a reputation of honesty and dedication over the years in the course of his public service, that culminated in his appointment as the General Manager of the Nigeria Ports Authority before he jumped into the murky waters of politics in 1983 that saw him emerging as the democratically elected civilian Governor of the defunct Gongola State.

All true democrats especially the supporters of the National Chairman of the PDP should put hands on deck to see his success in steering the ship of the greatest party in Africa and the enthronement of good governance at all levels.
