Nollywood diva, Beverly Naya, is set to thrill movie lovers, as she features in a new romantic comedy, ‘The Eve.’
The British-born Nigerian actress who joined the film industry barely a decade ago played the passive yet aggressive ‘Yewande’ in the movie billed for release in cinemas on March 29.
The movie chronicles the days leading up to a “happy couple’s” wedding day.
The movie tells the story of a young couple, Funsho (Adeolu Adefarasin) and Yewande, who despite their varying personalities are set to be married in a few days.
A bachelor’s eve get-together however opened a can of worms on the couple’s pasts which threatens the upcoming wedding. But will Funsho and Yewande tie the knot?
Speaking on her role in the movie, Naya, said “my character Yewande is a depiction of thousands of Nigerian women. Their struggles and motivations are so real and relatable. I think everyone knows a Yewande.”
According to the Executive Producer of the movie, Femi Odugbemi “Passion, longing, and heartbreak are familiar themes to viewers all around the world, but ‘The Eve’ comes with a fresh perspective.”
He said, “The movie is an engaging love story that explores the themes of weddings, marriage, sex, friendship, dating, cheating, celibacy, partying, and homosexuality in a refreshing, comical and thrilling manner. It’s definitely a must-see for everyone.”
Produced by Cut24 productions, the movie was directed by popular Nigerian rapper turned movie director, Tosin Igho.
It also featured John Okafor (Mr. Ibu), Ronke Oshodi, Meg Otanwa, Hauwa Allahbura, Kunle Remi, Mawuli Gavor, Efa Iwara, and Ronke Odusanya.
