A Federal High Court in Abuja has slated April 25 for ruling in an application for ruling by the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu and three others.

Justice Binta Nyako also fixed April 26 for ruling on the application to vary the order on use of witness protection during the trial.
 
Kanu was re-arraigned alongside Chidiebere Onwudiwe, Benjamin Madubugwu and David Nwawuisi on charges of treasonable felony and terrorism.

The judge had on March 1 reduced the 11-count charges to five bordering on treasonable felony.

Defence counsel Ifeanyi Ejiofor, Maxwel Okpara, Inalegwu Adoga and Emmanuel Esene all argued that the decision of the court to continue to shield witnesses during the trial contravenes the Administration of Criminal Justice Act (ACJA) since that only applies in section 2 (1) (a) of the Terrorism Prevention Act, 2011, which is no longer pending against the defendants.
