The orchard has been equipped with a hand pump which would be used in sustaining the place, according to the chairman of the council, Alhaji Lawan Shehu.

He said that with the consideration that the revenue from the federation account could not be relied upon, the council brought the idea so as to promote economic development in the town. He also said his administration was able to acquire fertilizer worth N30 million and had succeeded in distributing about 80 percent to farmers, while the rest was to other privileged people, as is the norm.

Alhaji Shehu said the council has made a retainership with the general hospital to the tune of N500,000 for emergencies that could come anytime and this was on a monthly basis.

He explained that rehabilitation of feeder roads featured under his administration, considering the importance of roads to rural development, while also stating that a lot of efforts have been made to resuscitate schools in the area.

He said the council also bought new vehicles for the vice chairman and the sum of N1.9 million was spent on the rehabilitation of the chairman`s residence.
