He recalled that the Federal Polytechnic Bida began as a Federal College on March 1, 1977 before it was relocated to Bida by the Federal Government on July 17 and renamed Federal College of Technology.
He said the name was further changed to the Federal Polytechnic Bida by the promulgation of Decree No 33 of 1979.
The rector stated that plans are underway for commencement of new courses that include National Diploma in Welding and Fabrication, Computer Engineering and Pharmacy Technology.
Other are Horticultural Technology, Industrial and Labour Relation, Purchase and Supply and Tourism as well as Higher National Diploma programme in Tourism and Purchase and Supply.
He also charged the students and the polytechnic community to always respect the policy on dress code introduced by the management of the institution.
Engineer Sule reminded the students that their primary aim of coming to the institution is to acquire skill which will make them to be useful in the society after graduation.
