Reputed for its excitement and pageantry, the Yola event that usually comes on the heels of the Nigeria Independence Celebration in October each year, holds plenty of excitement as arch rivals and ambitious newcomers are bracing up to a must win affair.

According to Mohammed Nda, the Publisher of Polo and Events Magazine, in the last twelve years the fiesta has grown to become one of the most attended polo showdown in Nigeria.

The cups to be competed for during the Fiesta are the Governors Cup, Lamido of Adamawa Cup, INTELS Cup and Admiral MurtalaNyako Cub. Other selected cups include American University of Nigeria Cup Lamido Aliyu Memorial Cup General Hassan Usman Katsina Cup, Sardauna Adamawa Cup, Chiroma Adamawa Cup, Sanusi Barkindo Cup and MCT Tahir Cup.

Meanwhile, a total of eight clubs have since registered for the tournament which holds lot of promises for the passionate fans of polo as each clubs boasts of quality players who can put up exhilarating performances.

From Katsina Max Air comes 1. Lawal Dahiru Mangal +1, 2. Ado Manawaki +2, 3. Buba Bello +4 and 4. Muhammed Usman Sarki+1. Rubicon Polo team is to be represented by S1.Senator Hadi Siriki 0, 2. Idris Badamasi +2, 3. Jamilu Mohammed +3 and Abuulmalik 4. Badamasi +2.

Yola Yelwa club is made up of 1. Asharaf Yahaya +2, 2. Aliyu Dahiru +2, 3. Hamisu Buba +3, and 4. Mohammed Baba +0 just as Katsina Persoil comes to play with 1. Dikko Dahiru Mangal 0, 2. Abba Kangiwa 0, 3. Bello Buba +4 and 4. Ahmadu Balaho +1.

From Yola Fombina is 1. Chubado Mohammed 0, 2. Zurkalaini Mohammed 0, 3. Sadiq Garba +2, and 4. Umar Modibbo with 1. Atiku Saibo-1, 2. Abubakar Yakubu 0, 3. Musa Kari +1 and 4. Usman Idris +2 coming in for Bauchi Linkage petroleum.
