A suspected motorcycle thief was on Monday night burnt to death by commercial motorcyclists in Suleja town in Niger State.
The incident took place in the Kwata area of the town where the suspected thief and his suspected accomplice reportedly robbed a motorcycle from its owner after hitting him with a hammer.
A resident told City & Crime that a commercial motorcyclist who was observing the development from behind trailed the two suspects while shouting “thieves”, which attracted the attention of other riders.
The source further stated that the two suspects jumped down from the snatched motorcycle and ran away, noting that one of them escaped while the other was rounded up by the cyclists who set him ablaze.
The Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Suleja B, CSP Danson Ayuba, confirmed the incident to our reporter.
Environmental officials were seen by our reporter taking the remains of the victim out of the division for burial.
