The conference assembled a selected team of scholars and thinkers from all over the Muslim world including students from various Nigeria-Turkish schools spread across the country.
The theme of the conference was “The Prophet’s Biography as a Source of Guidance and Exemplary Model” and participation was open to researchers and generality of the audience.
Issues discussed at the conference included “The Prophet’s migration: An inculcations of the concept of movement”, “Isra as trails of Faith” and “The art of relationship between the Creator and humanity in the context of the Prophet’s biography.”
Scholars who presented papers and participated in the discussions included Dr. Alao A/Razaq Abdulmajeed, Dr. Fall Tahir, Dr. Jakib Mohammed, Dr. Adetona Lateef Mobolaji, Prof. Dr. Ammi Mohammed, and Dr. Ibrahim Mai Bushara, among others.
On the significance of the event, Prof. Dr. Mohammad Sani Zaharadeen, the Limamin Kano and former Vice Chancellor, Bayero University Kano, said Allah, SWT, has stated in the Qur’an that Prophet Muhammad, SAW, is an example of good conduct for mankind hence the need for mankind to emulate.
He also said that Allah, SWT, also said that Prophet Muhammad, SAW, has been sent as a mercy unto mankind, both Muslims and non-Muslims, noting that even in the slaughtering of animals man has been enjoined to be merciful.
Prof. Zaharadeen called on Muslims to live peacefully and for preachers to preach peace and to call on Muslims to uphold prayer and show mercy to mankind especially women.
Dr. Khalid Abubakar Aliyu, Secretary General, JNI, said the conference was an opportunity to x-ray the biography of the Prophet (SAW) as an explanation of the Qur’an and Sunnah, and in understanding his tradition and solutions to the crises of modern man.
He said the conference focused on “The Battles of the Prophet: An exemplary means of mitigating transgression and establishment of peace”, “Family companionship of the Prophet: A model of ideal home and the foundation of the ideal Muslim society”. He said other tribes have called for the translation of the book.
He said Muslims need unity, coordination and consolidation as well as a platform to interact with other people in terms of education and economy and the conference is coming at a time Muslims are looking for a model in the person of Prophet Muhammad, SAW.
He said JNI has a long term partnership with NUSRET especially in the area of education with many schools established through the partnership because of NUSRET’s flair for morality and development.
In his speech, Kaduna State Governor Mukhtar Ramalan Yero commended the organisers  noting that Muslims are enjoined to spend their lives in accordance with the teachings and practice of Prophet Muhammad, SAW, hence it is obligatory for them to reflect on his life in order to remain steadfast within the bounds of faith.
The governor said the Prophet remains a shining light of acceptable behaviour and culture because right from childhood he exhibited an exemplary behaviour that endeared him to the Makkans who gave him the name Al Ameen and because of his integrity and social behaviour many embraced Islam.
Yero said the Muslim Ummah in Nigeria is facing many challenges including squabbles among sects  and misguided elements who hide under Islam to perpetrate acts of terrorism, killing both Muslims and non-Muslims which is unacceptable in Islam and must be reversed as quick as possible.
