The Kano State chapter of the Poultry Association of Nigeria (PAN) has organised a one-day workshop on Avian Influenza preventive measures, following the recent outbreak of the influenza in four states of the federation.
Speaking at the workshop organised for stakeholders in the poultry business held in Kano, PAN’s chairman in the state, Dr. Muhammad Auwal Haruna, stated that with the recent outbreak of the influenza virus in Lagos, Oyo, Enugu and Nasarawa states, poultry farmers had to ensure that the virus did not get to their farms.
According to him, the workshop was aimed at sensitising poultry farmers in the state on the necessity of adopting bio-security preventive measures as the ultimate get-away weapon against the devastating virus infection.
