Biz man sentenced 3 years over breach of trust
A magistrate court No 15 of No Man’s Land in Kano state has sentenced a business man to three years imprisonment over breach of trust.
The court prosecutor, Inspector Jacob Yaduma, told the court that one Alhaji Rabi’u Dahiru of Lamido Road in Nassarawa local government reported to the police that Shehu Abubakar of Kuntau Dorayi, sometime in 2017 deceived him and collected the sum of N877,000 with pretense to lead the complainant to buy a building of Unity bank situated at IBB road in Kano.
The court further heard that after the convict collected the money from the complainant, he converted the whole money for his personal use and refused to make way for him to buy the said building.
The convict pleaded guilty to the two count charge of criminal breach of trust and cheating contrary to section 312 and 320 of Penal Code Law.
The presiding judge, Chief Magistrate Mukhtar Garba Dandago, sentenced Abubakar to one year imprisonment or pay a fine of N30,000 and also to serve a prison for period of two years for failure to pay the N877,000.
