An Abuja-based businessman, Dr Chjioke Ekechukwu , has rehabilitated a section of a road in the Federal Housing Estate Phase II, Karu, Abuja.
The rehabilitation work covered 500 meters include building of drainage, covering the road with stones and laterite and laying of asphalt.
Ekechukwu who owns a school (Bristol Academy) in the neighbourhood told Daily Trust that he was moved to action by the suffering of the road users. “Bristol Academy is located here. Parents face trouble bringing their children to school so this is to take away the pains from parents,” he said. According to him, 35 truck loads of laterite and 35 loads of stone-base were dumped for the work and that a grader, bulldozer and roller were also brought to site.
