Blac Mansion commences 600 housing unit project

Speaking at the ground breaking ceremony held on the site in Kurudu, the Director of Black Mansion, Mr. Joseph Edem Duke said 40 hectares of land have been allocated for the 600 housing estate and is in partnership with the First Generation Mortgage Bank (FGMB).
He said the first phase of the housing project is to cover 10 hectares of land and will be completed in 12 months, adding that the first phase will have  150 housing units of different categories.
He said one of the challenges facing the company in the course of the project is high cost of the land which he put at N200 million.
“Social amenities aren’t a problem because the estate is close to another estate making it very easy to connect to its facilities.
“There is a big stream here so we are planning towards having a mini water works which will serve the estate. If this is developed we don’t need to get into boreholes,” he said.
He said the Nigeria Civil Service Union is in partnership with the company in making the houses affordable and available to civil servants who are the prime target of the housing scheme.
The estate is expected to have shopping mall, health centre, recreation centre, among others.
